Worcester

Worcester is a charming city in the West Midlands situated on the banks of the River Severn. On the western side of the river the suburbs of Claines, Northwick, Red Hill, Ronkswood and St Peter the Great can be found. To the east are the suburbs of Henwick, Lower Wick and St. John’s. Looking Down on the City is the Spire of the Beautiful 12th Century Cathedral that is the most prominent of Worcester’s landmarks. The City itself is famous for many things but the most commonly known ones are probably Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, Worcester County Cricket Club, Royal Worcester Porcelain and Sir Edward Elgar. Other lesser known links to the city are from way back in history such as the fact that Worcester was the site of the final battle of the Civil War where Oliver Cromwell’s New Model Army defeated the Kings Cavaliers.
