Driving Test Fees Are Due To Increase After 30th March 2009

 

Following a public consultation in October of last year the Driving Standards Agency has announced that there will be an increase in fees that apply to the Theory and Practical driving tests booked on or after 30th March 2009. 

The fees will affect the theory test for leaner car drivers and motorcycle/moped riders and have risen by £1 from £30 to £31. 

Also affected will be the practical test for learner car drivers as these fees are to rise from £56.50 to £62.00 (Standard weekday test) and from £67.00 to £75.00 (Out of hours test).The extended rates will now be £124.00 from £113.00 (standard weekday test) and £150.00 from £134.00 (Out of hours test). 

The motorcycle practical (2 module) tests see the biggest increase in fees with prices set to go from £80.00 to £90.50 (Standard test) and from £92.00 to £104.00 (Out of hours test) although it will not be implemented until after 5th October 2009. 

The extended weekday practical tests for motorcyclists will have a 10% rise from £150.00 to £165.50 and the out of hours test from £174.00 to £192.50 which is a 10.6% rise.
