Katie Love from Worcester - Finalist on So you think you can Dance? 2011

Katie Love, 24, a dancer from Worcester has made it into this years final as one of the top 20 dancers from around the UK.

So you think you can Dance held the first live show on Saturday night when all 20 dancers got to do a showcase dance for the judges and to introduce themselves to the audience.

Local girl Katie stood out from the others with her pink hair saying "If you can't have pink hair when you are 24 and on the Telly then when can you?"

Katie who won over the four judges (Nigel Lythgoe, Arlene Phillips, Sisco Gomez and Louise Redknapp) with a contemporary dance in her audition danced her showcase dance with fellow contestants Bethany Rose Harrison from Devon, Luke Jackson from Leicester and Australian Shane Collard from Perth. The four contestants opened the show by performing a Jazz routine to "Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence.  With a vampire theme to their dance they did not disappoint putting in a strong performance that the judges described as "Hot" "Sexy & Sensual". Nigel commented that both Katie & Bethany's technique was fabulous with Arlene describing it as "Strong" and "On it!"

Katie was originally from Rushwick in Worcester & attended St Mary's Convent School before winning a scholarship at 16 to Bird College in Kent a top theatre college. Katie has loved dancing reportedly since the age of two when she first learnt to dance in Worcester and joining the Dance academy at the age of nine.

Katie will be needing all the local support from Worcester that she can get because as of next week the judging and phone voting will begin and the other 19 finalists who are:-
