Shinkido Martial Arts Academy

Shinkido Martial Arts Academy was founded in April 2008, by experienced and highly respected instructor, Bruce Payne, whose knowledge and expertise has evolved through many years of dedicated study and well researched training practises.

Bruce has taught professionally for over 12 years, and has established Evesham's only full time private ‘ dojo ‘ which is fully equipped and can be accessed seven days a week, he is also a certificated first aider.

The academy provides a safe learning environment for students aged 10 years and beyond, and lessons are structured to cater for a variety of needs including, small groups, one to one tuition and specialist day and weekend courses. Flexible lesson times can be arranged for those who have difficulty in attending the regular time slots; shift workers, busy parents and those struggling to deal with commuting times for training.

SHINKIDO MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY -seniors-offers an all round approach to the vast subject of martial arts in a atmosphere that is respectful and supportive; we really want you to enjoy your lessons, and will not tolerate egotistical behaviour from students or instructors.

Self-development must always be a individual journey and Shinkido has individual tuition at its core. We do not believe in over subscribed classes, where essential elements of detailed training are lost. Martial Arts is such an enormous subject, that it is our responsibility to teach you with ‘ You ' in mind, rather than a large group that cannot possibly absorb information effectively.

Shinkido Martial Arts Academy adheres to the highest standards of applied martial arts, and combines traditional styles with constantly developing modern combat skills. Our syllabus is carefully structured and lessons are designed to bring out the best ability in a student while learning valuable techniques of self protection, but, as Bruce Payne says,  " We are aware of violence in our everyday lives, and the best form of self defence is avoidance; simply, do not get into a situation where you have to defend yourself, life is not like the movies, violence is not glamorous! "

We want you to have a positive experience of the subject of martial arts, and stress that the more you put in, the more you will get out of it: training and practice is an important part of development and growth, and should be entered into with spirit and determination. Fees are from as little as £40 a month, with membership being £25 per annum.

SHINKIDO CLUB is aimed at those between the ages of 10 and 15 years and is therefore the junior arm of the academy. Classes are informative and organised, the emphasis being on physical fitness, self-motivation and a good martial arts grounding in the disciplined environment of the Shinkido ‘ dojo '. This type of training is a serious business, but Shinkido recognises that fun and games are an important part of youth development, so you will enjoy your lessons!

Shinkido Club fees are from £25 monthly, with a yearly membership payment of £25

This introduction to SHINKIDO MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY cannot possibly encompass the true depth and complexity of the subject, the best way to understand the Shinkido ‘ dojo ‘ ethos is to come along and view it for yourselves. We offer a free introductory lesson, where your individual needs can be assessed.
