Volunteers Recruitment Night


The Worcestershire Literary Festival Needs YOU!Organisation for the Worcestershire Literary Festival is stepping up a gear this month and our programming is well under way. The team have many exciting things that they will be announcing soon as part of their programming for the Festival, including the search for Worcestershire’s first Poet Laureate, workshops, talks, book signings, seminars galore and much more.

None of this can happen without help, and therefore the Festival Organisers are looking to appoint a team of volunteers to come on board the Core Group Team and help with the organisation of the Festival. They are currently looking to fill several key volunteer positions including Festival Organisers to handle Website Management and Updating, Venue Liaison, Press & PR, Online Listings Management and much more.

The WLF team then intends to have other volunteers to help in terms of administration, delivering leaflets, getting in touch with venues, confirming events and other hands on organisation of the WLF as a whole. They need volunteers to help deliver leaflets and brochures, transport guests around (expenses will be provided), put out chairs in venues and much more.

A volunteer recruitment evening has been arranged at Little Venice in St Nicholas Street, Worcester on Wednesday 16th February 2011 at 7.30pm, and this will be a great opportunity to come along, find out more about the Festival and how you can help and get involved.

Lisa Ventura, Festival Director & Founder said: "The Worcestershire Literary Festival meet as a group weekly on Mondays at 2:30pm at the WLF office, and the amount of time volunteers can give to the WLF is entirely up to them – volunteers can dip in for a few hours as and when, help out in the evenings around childcare or other commitments, or join us in one of the vacant positions – the possibilities are endless.

The Worcestershire Literary Festival is in its inaugural year, and will be staged between 17th and 27th June 2011. Programming for the Festival is well underway and any organisations or individuals who would like to register to take part in the Festival or stage an event have until February 28th to contact the Festival Office on 0845 652 0621 or via programming@worcslitfest.com to request an event registration information pack.
