Worcester can infamously lay claim to having the ‘Worlds Oldest Newspaper' still in print. That claim lies with the popular local paper Berrow's Worcester Journal. The Journal has been published every week without fail for the last 300 years which is a remarkable achievement in itself but the publications actually go back even further to 1690. For a period of nearly 20 years the publications were irregular as it was during this time that saw an end to the suppression of newspapers and the control over printed material and the start of a free press in this country.

The local daily paper in Worcester is the Worcester News Daily. As well as the above mentioned Berrows Worcester Journal there is also the Worcester Standard Weekly available.
